I developed a passion for the birthing process in 1998 when I served as a Prenatal Educator for pregnant and parenting teenagers in Austin, Texas. After working extensively in Latin America and earning a Masters in Public Health, I have been providing doula services, teaching childbirth classes, writing online about natural childbirth, and convening networks of birth advocates, most recently in South India. I have the utmost confidence and trust in women’s bodies and in their ability to birth babies.
Paige developed a passion for the birthing process in 1998 when she served as a bilingual (Spanish) Prenatal Educator for pregnant and parenting teenagers in Austin, Texas. Prior to this experience she worked extensively in Latin America building her understanding of the importance of women’s health to healthy communities and societies. Attending the births of her clients in Texas inspired her commitment to improving the conditions around which women give birth in this country. She moved to New York City to attend Columbia University where she earned her Masters in Public Health with a focus on sexual and reproductive health. Since then, she has been providing doula services, teaching childbirth classes, writing online about natural childbirth and parenting, and convening networks of birth advocates, most recently in South India.
Paige is DONA-trained, Lamaze-certified, a current member of the Central Texas Birth Network (CTBN) and Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), founder of the Brooklyn Doula Group and co-founder of the Bangalore Birth Network. She has supported women who have delivered at home, in birthing centers, and in hospitals.
